Iran halts all food and agricultural exports to prioritise domestic supply as conflict with Israel and the US enters its fourth day.

TEHRAN: Iran has banned exports of all food and agricultural products as its war with Israel and the United States enters a fourth day.

The government announced the measure on Tuesday, stating it would remain in effect until further notice.

“The export of all food and agricultural products has been banned until further notice,” the Tasnim news agency reported, citing a government statement.

It added that the government has prioritised securing the supply of essential goods for the Iranian people.

The conflict escalated on Saturday when the US and Israel launched attacks on the Islamic republic.

Those strikes resulted in the death of Iran’s supreme leader and several senior military commanders.

Since the outbreak of hostilities, Iran has activated its national contingency plans.
