The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the latest US airstrikes on several targets on the country's southern coast.
This is a "blatant violation" of the framework agreement, the ministry said in a statement distributed by the ISNA news agency on Saturday.
Iran will defend its sovereignty, security, and national interests with all its might, it stressed.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM), responsible for the Middle East, announced on Friday that new attacks had been carried out in response to an attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz earlier in the day.
These were the first strikes since the signing on June 17 of the framework agreement with Tehran to end the war, launched by the US and Israel in late February.
US President Donald Trump had previously attributed the attack on the cargo ship to Iran and deemed it a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
