Iran's military leadership has issued a warning over what it said were Israeli military aircraft in airspace near the Islamic Republic, according to a statement carried by the Fars news agency on Friday.
The military headquarters said it considered the aircraft, which had been "approaching Iran," to be a threat. The information could not initially be verified.
The statement said Iran "reserves the right to respond to such measures" if the United States is unable to rein in Israel. It was not clear where exactly the Israeli aircraft were said to be.
The US and Iran are in the midst of technical negotiations over a lasting peace deal, following the US-Israeli war on Iran that began at the end of February.
