Iran's armed forces said they had attacked targets in Bahrain and Kuwait in response to US strikes in southern Iran.

In Bahrain, a regional headquarters of the US Navy was attacked with so-called kamikaze drones, according to a statement by the military carried by state media. The attack reportedly targeted Patriot air defence systems.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had attacked two US air bases in Kuwait and one in Bahrain, saying a total of 18 targets had been attacked.

There was no immediate confirmation from Bahrain, Kuwait or the US military.
