Donald Trump said Washington did not need a ceasefire deal with Iran to get enriched uranium from the country as Hezbollah rejected a new ceasefire in Lebanon.
Trump also said that he did not want to meet with Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
"We could get it right now. I don't think they could stop us if we wanted, but there's no reason to. It's entombed," he told reporters in the Oval Office.
Oman has reportedly suspended oil loading operations at the Mina al Fahal terminal following an explosion near the facility. The blast occurred between the terminal's SBM 1 and SBM 2 single-buoy mooring berths and was allegedly caused by a drone attack, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Iran-backed Hezbollah on Thursday rejected a new US-brokered ceasefire proposal in Lebanon, saying the group was not involved in the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Israel continued strikes in southern Lebanon, with defence minister Israel Katz saying military operations would continue and troops would not withdraw.

The explosion happened near its single-buoy mooring (SBM) berths, between SBM 1 and 2 berths due to an alleged drone attack, they said.
It was not immediately clear when the attack took place.
Several supertankers were seen anchored off the port on Friday, shipping data from LSEG showed.
The terminal could not be immediately reached for comment outside office hours.
Iranian state media on Wednesday reported that Tehran targeted a US military ship hosting a "control and command center" while it was approaching Iranian territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman, which the US Central Command has denied.

The International Atomic Energy Agency reported that it "cannot provide any information on the current size, composition or whereabouts of the stockpile of enriched uranium in Iran or whether Iran has suspended all enrichment-related activities.
"The IAEA warned that it was "unable to discharge its safeguards responsibilities" that it has under the Safeguards Agreement of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, adding that it is "indispensable and urgent" for Tehran to implement its obligations under that Treaty.
The only nuclear facility inspected in Iran by IAEA inspectors since the last report in February has been the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which was visited on June 1-3.
The reactor currently running at Bushehr uses uranium from Russia enriched to 4.5 per cent, a low level needed for power generation in such plants.
The confidential report comes as tensions have flared in the Middle East.

“We’re at dangerously low levels already”, one unnamed industry executive told Politico. “We have shared those concerns at the highest levels of government about what’s coming in mid-to-late June … I hope they are paying attention to inventories right now. You’re hitting tank bottom”.
A White House official denied Politico’s reporting, claiming oil executives have not spoken with senior officials on oil reserve issues.

He is the seventh peacekeeper killed in the country since March.
The UN said two other peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were wounded in the incident, one from El Salvador and the other from Spain.
The soldier killed was Sergeant Milovan Jovanovic of Serbia's 27th Mechanized Battalion, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told a news briefing at UN headquarters in New York.
He said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the killing of Jovanovic, who would have turned 37 on Saturday.
He was married, with a son and a daughter, and was on his first peacekeeping deployment.
"We reiterate that attacks on peacekeepers must stop," Dujarric said. "They are grave violations of international humanitarian law and ... may amount to war crimes."
"Those responsible must be held to account," Dujarric said.

The temporary Taxi Fuel Surcharge Fee took effect in Chicago Monday and applies to all licensed taxi rides, the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection revealed in a news release. It is based on the pre-tax meter fare and increases depending on the cost of the trip.
For shorter rides with a meter fare under $20, passengers will pay an additional $1. Trips ranging from $20.01 to $40 will include a $2 surcharge, while longer or more expensive rides above $40 will carry a $3 fee.

The message was read during ceremonies marking the anniversary of the death of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ruhollah Khomeini, as well as a major Shi'ite holiday.
Khamenei has not been seen in public since he was injured in a US-Israeli strike that killed his father on 28 February.

Asked whether the ceasefire is still in place after Iran fired missiles against targets in Kuwait, Trump replied that there was “a reason” for the exchange of fire.
“We've been hitting them pretty hard, a little bit, so there is a reason for certain things, and there's usually a reason that sometimes makes sense. Some, but they did something for not a big deal. We got it, we nipped it in the bud very quickly, as we do with the greatest military in the world, but some people would say they were slightly provoked because we took a strong action for a different reason, so they were reciprocating,” he said.

Thursday 4 June 2026 07:28 , Maira ButtIsrael will continue its operations on the ground in southern Lebanon for the time being and Lebanese residents forced from their homes by Israel would not be able to return, Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Thursday.
His comments came a day after Lebanon and Israel said they had agreed to implement a ceasefire during talks in Washington. The deal is contingent on a cessation of fire from militant group Hezbollah.
In a statement, Katz said troops would remain in its so-called security zone in southern Lebanon, including in the area of Beaufort Castle, a 900-year-old fortress captured by Israel on Saturday.
He said Israel would continue to “dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the area” while Israel had “freedom of action, backed by the United States, to strike in Beirut in response to attacks on Israeli communities and territory.”

But in the run-up to this year’s World Cup, the ongoing war in Iran has resulted in soaring inflation and high fuel prices, neither of which bodes well for tourism or event attendance.
Recent tourism reports indicate there will be fewer hotel reservations than anticipated due to reduced international travel confidence and a growing uncertainty related to U.S. immigration policies, geopolitical instability, tariffs and inflation.

The House passed the War Powers Act resolution 215-208. The move came after four Republicans defected to the Democratic side.
Under U.S. law, the president must withdraw troops within 60 days of a military engagement unless Congress declares war or authorizes the use of military force. The president must also inform Congress within 48 of committing armed forces into action.

US Central Command said the military attacked a ground control tower on Qeshm Island in “self-defence”, claiming Iran had tried and failed to attack Kuwait and Bahrain with missiles.
Residents reported hearing early morning explosions on the 558sq mile stretch off the mainland, which has been used throughout the conflict to attack ships passing through the closed waterway.
