- US President Donald Trump stated that Iran is keen to reach a beneficial deal with the United States and its allies. In a Truth Social post he insisted Tehran “really wanted to make a deal” and suggested Americans “just sit back and relax.”
- Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it targeted a US air base, claiming it was used in a prior US attack on a telecoms tower on Sirik Island.
- This Iranian action followed US “self-defence strikes” on Iranian radar and drone control sites over the weekend, in response to what the US called “aggressive” actions from Tehran.
- US Central Command reported that Iran had shot down a US MQ-1 drone operating in international waters.
- Meanwhile, oil prices jumped more than 2 per cent as negotiations continued. Brent crude, the international benchmark, rose 2.4 per cent to $93.33 a barrel early Monday - up from around $70 a barrel before the war began.
