Iraq has reopened its airspace earlier than expected, after temporarily closing it amid renewed attacks traded by Israel and Iran.
The current situation is being closely monitored, the Civil Aviation Authority said on Monday, according to the state news agency INA.
The "highest level of security" is in place in Iraqi airspace, the authority said.
Iraq had previously announced a 72-hour closure in response to the recent attacks, which would have expired on Wednesday evening.
The closure of Syria’s airspace, however, has been extended by a further 12 hours until 11 pm on Monday night (2000 GMT). Air traffic in the Arab country was originally due to resume this morning.
Both countries are geographically situated between Iran and Israel and are therefore in the line of fire in the event of mutual attacks by the two arch-enemies.
