WORLD Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, has been officially appointed as Malaysia’s Coordinator for Strategic Intelligence under the World Economic Forum, with the role taking effect on 24 October 2025.
Irmohizam, who also sits on the board of the World Trade Centers Association, was conveyed the formal appointment at WTCKL yesterday by Professor Henrik von Scheel, Co-Founder of Strategic Intelligence at the World Economic Forum.
Professor Henrik, who is based in Switzerland, is visiting Malaysia as part of a series of working trips aimed at strengthening international strategic partnerships.
The appointment recognises Irmohizam’s extensive global expertise and leadership in fostering trade networks, economic diplomacy, and strategic development—critical priorities as global economic influence increasingly shifts towards Asia.
In his new capacity, he is tasked with positioning Malaysia as a key hub for strategic dialogue, innovation, and international economic collaboration.
Strategic Intelligence, a globally influential organisation that shapes agendas for the future, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has for more than two decades provided strategic analyses, policy insights, and reports for leading institutions such as the World Economic Forum.
“This role not only recognises the work we have done in advancing Malaysia’s trade and economic networks, but also strengthens the country’s presence in shaping strategic discussions on a global scale,” said sources familiar with the appointment.
The selection of Irmohizam underscores Malaysia’s growing prominence in the international strategic and economic arena and signals the nation’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of global discourse on trade, innovation, and development. - November 19, 2025
