Is it fair for HarakahDaily to allege that Anwar lied to the people for failing to reduce price of RON95 after 100 days in office?

Consider a recent allegation by HarakahDaily that claimed  PMX lied to the people because he did not reduce the petrol price of RON95 as promised.

Is this a fair allegation?

Anyway, HarakahDaily did say in its most recent publication and was quoted by various newspapers.

Focus Malaysia reports that HarakahDaily the political mouthpiece of PAS heralds 100th day of Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN)-led government by angrily criticising the PMX, Anwar, whom it says failed to fulfill promises made, most important being his failure to reduce price of RON95.

According to Focus MalaysiaHarakah alleged that Anwar made a promise found on a video clip posted on social media that said “… not 20 days, two weeks but 24 hours (after coming to power), I’ll announced that oil prices has come down”.

However, after 100 days of his administration, the price has not been reduced as Anwar said he would.

Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir who is the editor of HarakahDaily questioned "What has happened?....after almost 100 days of Anwar serving as PM, the price of RON95 petrol in the market has not changed at RM2.05/litre."

Mohd Shahir went on to conclude that “Surely the failure to lower the price of oil for the people is a signal that Anwar has indeed lied to them.”

In fact, the daily claimed Anwar has been "deceptive by making false promises to his PH supporters."

We are certain Anwar and PH are aware of their campaign promises. Reducing price of RON95 is one promise not easily forgotten.

Of course, PAS and its mouthpiece, HarakahDaily is not about to let PH and Anwar Ibrahim now in a powerful position as PM to get away with such a tantalising promise.

They are holding Anwar Ibrahim accountable to the promise he made to the entire country.

Anyway, it is fair comment then for HarakahDaily to allege that Anwar lied to the people for failing to reduce price of RON95 after 100 days in office.

The Malaysian public is definitely waiting with bated breath, nervous and excited anticipating what will happen to a promise that Anwar made which all would like to see fulfilled.

The sooner the better.

Otherwise, Anwar may be haunted by his own unkept promise in all the years he'll be in office.
