Taxi Driver 3, SBS’s hit K-drama, concluded with a nail-biting finale. With the Rainbow Taxi team safe and ready to take on new missions, fans can’t help but wonder whether Taxi Driver will return for a fourth instalment. If you happen to be one of those fans, here is what we know so far about the possibility of the K-drama continuing its story with Taxi Driver 4.

Adapted from the webtoon The Deluxe Taxi, created by Carlos and illustrated by Lee Jae-jin, the crime thriller K-drama follows a secret vigilante organisation, the Rainbow Taxi, that delivers justice on behalf of victims failed by the legal system.

The third season of the series maintained strong ratings and achieved widespread acclaim, reinforcing the franchise’s popularity. According to media outlet MK Sports, the last episode of Taxi Driver 3 achieved a peak viewership rating of 16.6 per cent.

Is season 4 of the K-drama Taxi Driver happening?

As of now, SBS has not officially announced Taxi Driver 4.

However, the finale of Taxi Driver 3 hints at a possible continuation. Kim Do-gi’s survival, the team’s return to the Rainbow Taxi base and the introduction of a new potential case all suggest the story is far from over. The drama’s structure — introducing fresh cases each season while keeping the core team intact — makes it particularly well-suited to keep going.

What happens at the end of season 3?

At the end of the show, Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) succeeds in dismantling the military conspiracy behind Yoo Seon-a’s (played by Jeon So-nee) death and preventing an incident that could have triggered national chaos. Although Do-gi is shot while confronting the main antagonist and is seen falling into a river, the closing moments confirm his survival.

The crime thriller ends with Do-gi reuniting with the Rainbow Taxi team at their base as they quietly begin preparing for another mission. Rather than offering a definitive farewell, the finale reinforces the idea that as long as injustice exists, the Rainbow Taxi team will continue their work.
