In a TikTok video recently posted online, a foreign woman claimed that one of the reasons why she wants to stay in Malaysia is that it is safe.
"It is 5am, you can walk anywhere at any time, it is a safe country." (heart emoji)
Now wait a minute, is this satire???
TikTok content creator @sozi.deeb is from Arab and she creates a lot of videos about Malaysia, particularly about the fruits and foods that grow here.
In the rest of her video, she shows herself walking through a market at 5 AM with a peaceful and pleasant vibe. She also interacts with vendors at food stalls as she is purchasing some fruits.
Now we do know that Malaysia is safe (to a certain extent), but is it really THAT safe?
Well, fellow Malaysians sure don't think so!
Here are some things they said:
First of all, it is really good to see Malaysians coming together to share consideration towards the content creator and just alerting her to be careful.
But, a lot of Malaysians had the same thoughts.
Mainly it being; that she shouldn't be walking alone at night or when it is still dark outside as anything can happen. Though you may feel safe at the moment, this could all change very quickly.
