Every Year After started streaming on 10 June, but fans are already wondering whether season 2 is on the cards. The good news is that showrunner Amy B. Harris has made it clear that she sees Every Year After as a long-running franchise rather than a one-season adaptation. “I see five seasons,” Harris told Entertainment Weekly. “Obviously, there’s another book that’s connected to Barry’s Bay that I think will be a very exciting blueprint for us for a potential season 2.”
What can be the possible plot of Every Year After season 2?
If the streaming platform green-lights the romantic drama for another season, then Harris’s comments point to Carley Fortune’s companion novel One Golden Summer, which follows the story of Sam’s brother, Charlie, and his love interest Alice Everly.
“We have these six main characters, and I think we’ll be adding characters as the seasons go on. I really see this as a series, and it’s why we built it the way we did so that we can come back and explore a lot more romance,” Harris added about the upcoming seasons of the show. “We have lots more to say both about Percy and Sam’s love story, but also about these other characters who hopefully people will come to love as much as they do Percy and Sam.”
