  • A new report by Stanford economists indicates that software developers and customer service roles are among those most vulnerable to replacement by artificial intelligence in the US.
  • The study highlights that young people aged in their early to mid-twenties are disproportionately affected, as AI can readily replicate their university-level "book learning".
  • Employment growth for this younger demographic in AI-exposed occupations has declined by six per cent since 2022, contrasting with an increase for older workers.
