Robbie Earle says Alexander Isak could reach greatness at Newcastle United.
Ex-Port Vale and Wimbledon man Earle hailed Isak, backing him as the next black-and-white hero" on Tyneside while paying tribute to the legendary position.
My underappreciated performer of the week goes to Alexander Isak," he told NBC Sports. I think it's like six Premier League goals now. He started this season and got an injury so it's been a stop-start since his club-record move to Newcastle.
Callum Wilson started the season well, scoring goals and was probably quite rightly the number nine. But I think we've always felt like that, Isak, given the opportunity, can score goals.
He looks like a threat. He is a good runner, a good dribbler, holds it (the ball) up well and looks intelligent. Good technique, nice finishing off both feet. That first volley was a lovely finish where he controlled the ball behind him.
He could be the next big-time Newcastle United centre-forward. A black-and-white hero for that football club, who love their strikers up there. There isn't a better position in Premier League football than a free-scoring striker for Newcastle United.
Earle also said, When I was thinking last night, Patrick Kluivert (who Isak reminds him of).
Remember Kluivert? He was a centre-forward, but very, very technical, (with) natural ability and can make things happen. He's had a few injuries. He's coming to English football. He's one of them just to keep an eye on, Alexander Isak."
