Isha Ponti explores love and self-discovery in debut album ‘Likas’

Emerging singer-songwriter Isha Ponti is set to release “Likas” a 10-track album that explores themes of love, growth, healing and self-discovery.

The album’s title is an acronym for Longing, Illusion, Kindness, Acceptance and Self-love, themes that run through the collection’s songs.

Written entirely by Ponti, the album was developed in collaboration with musical director and producer Adonis Tabanda, who worked with the singer-songwriter on its melodies and arrangements.

“Likas” features 10 tracks: “Darating,” “Numero,” “Hinga,” “Kabanata,” “Halika,” “Warmth,” “Gulong,” “Bakas,” “Riversky” and “Mismo.”

One of them, “Kabanata,” has gained attention on digital streaming platforms and Philippine radio. The track is available on Spotify and other major music platforms.

“Likas” draws from personal experiences and reflects moments of heartbreak, hope and self-reflection. The album’s songs examine the emotional complexities of relationships and the search for understanding and acceptance.

Ponti is among a new generation of Filipino artists contributing to the continued growth of Original Pilipino Music on streaming platforms. Her songwriting and vocal abilities are among the qualities that distinguish her as an emerging artist.

To mark the album’s release, a launch event titled “Isha Ponti: Likas” is scheduled for June 20, 7 p.m., at Viva Cafe. The event will feature live performances and storytelling centered on the music from the album, with special guests expected to attend.

Tabanda will serve as musical director for the launch, which is expected to highlight Ponti’s work as both a performer and songwriter.

The album presents a personal body of work shaped by themes of longing, illusion, kindness, acceptance and self-love, offering listeners a glimpse into the experiences that inspired its creation.
