As you probably know by now, American YouTuber Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, has been making waves during his tour of Southeast Asia.

Recently, he even made a stop in Malaysia, creating a massive buzz among his fans. Now, he’s continuing his tour in Singapore, and things just got even more interesting.

While live-streaming on his YouTube channel, Speed was seen wandering through the streets of Singapore, soaking up the local vibe.

Curious as ever, he asked, “What is the cultural food here in Singapore?” as he explored the city.

Eventually, he came across a tea stall, where the vendor voluntarily offered to make him something special.

In the midst of his adventure, someone in the crowd recommended the iconic “Teh Tarik” for Speed to try.

Not one to miss out on a local experience, he followed the vendor to watch the preparation process.

When the tea was ready, Speed eagerly grabbed the cup and, in classic IShowSpeed fashion, blurted out, “Singaporean tea!”—leaving some viewers scratching their heads.

Little did Speed know, he was actually holding a cup of teh tarik!

Naturally, this sparked a mini debate in the live comment section. A few Malaysians were quick to chime in, reminding everyone that teh tarik is actually a Malaysian drink, not Singaporean.

But hey, Speed seemed to enjoy the drink thoroughly regardless of where it came from!

What do you think of Speed’s little mix-up? Was it just an honest mistake, or do you think teh tarik should get the recognition it deserves? Share your thoughts with us in the comments
