KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has lodged a police report against a Facebook page that published two false and defamatory articles linking him to an incident involving Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli’s child and a scandal involving a private company.

Ismail Sabri said the report was filed by his press secretary at the Dang Wangi police station on August 18.

He added that a separate complaint was also submitted to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Facebook, urging swift action against the page and its administrator or owner.

“The content of the articles uploaded on the Facebook page is completely untrue and maliciously intended to damage my reputation and good name,” he said in a statement today.

Ismail Sabri urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take firm action against those responsible for creating and spreading the posts.

He also confirmed that his lawyers have been instructed to initiate legal proceedings against the parties involved. — August 20, 2025
