PETALING JAYA: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has clarified that there’s no rift with his party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, NST reports.
“I have known him since my schooldays. I know him...not only him but his wife when they were in love and yet to tie the knot. I know them.
“They (the Opposition) are trying to divide (the relationship between Ismail and Zahid) us but please don’t try to do that. Nothing can break the relationship between me and Zahid,” he was quoted as saying at an event in Bagan Datuk today.
Ismail stressed that only solidarity (among party members) would determine the Umno’s success in the upcoming GE15.
Meanwhile, in a related matter, Zahid, who was also present at the event said he has known Ismail since 1973 and warned political rivals not to divide the duo.
