Parts of Malaysia, especially in the Eastern and Northern states, have seen awful flooding after continuous rain in the past few days.

Despite the dangers of the flood waters, it appears that some Malaysians have taken the opportunity to enjoy the deep waters instead. In parts of Kota Bharu, Kelantan, children and adults were seen swimming and playing in the flood waters.

In a video uploaded on TikTok by user @sy42w417, parts of the city centre which were completely flooded had many people simply swimming and playing around in the waters.

The video’s caption reads, “Kota Bharu waterpark,” a nod to the amount of fun the video shows.

However, netizens did not agree with the actions in the video and condemned parents for allowing their children to swim and play in such dirty waters.

“The water is unsafe, and there’s so much dirt inside. They can get sick from that.”

Another commented, “Do they think it’s a waterpark? That water is so dirty.”

Although it may seem like fun to play around in deep waters, it’s never a good idea to swim around in water that dirty.
