The Israeli Air Force has again struck targets of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in southern Lebanon, a military spokesman said on Saturday without providing details.
Earlier, the military had urged the population of several towns in the area to leave their homes and seek safety due to impending action against the militia.
The attacks were justified on the grounds of Hezbollah’s violations of the existing ceasefire, brokered by the United States and extended only on Friday.
Since the war began in April, the ceasefire has been extended twice and is now set to remain in place until the end of June.
Israel is currently negotiating with the Lebanese government, which is not itself a party to the conflict.
Hezbollah rejects any talks and is not participating. Observers assume, however, that its representatives are being informed of the progress of the negotiations.
Both the Israeli military and Hezbollah have continued their attacks in recent weeks despite the ceasefire.
