Israeli military begins broad-scale strikes on Tehran, with explosions reported in the Iranian capital following earlier Iranian missile fire at Israel.
JERUSALEM: Israel announced it had launched “broad-scale” strikes on targets in Tehran.
The Israeli military statement said the IDF had begun a broad-scale wave of strikes on government targets in the Iranian capital.
This followed earlier Iranian missile fire detected heading towards Israel.
A series of explosions were subsequently heard in the Israeli commercial hub of Tel Aviv.
Israel’s emergency services, the Magen David Adom, reported no casualties from the barrage.
The military later issued a statement saying people were free to leave their shelters in all areas of the country.
Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported an explosion in the western part of Tehran.
