Israeli military claims 700 Hezbollah militants killed since March, as Lebanon reports over 1,000 civilian deaths in the cross-border war.
JERUSALEM: The Israeli military says its forces have killed approximately 700 Hezbollah militants since the conflict with the Lebanese armed group began.
Military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani provided the figure to journalists, stating, “So far, I can provide you a number of approximately 700 (Hezbollah) terrorists that have been eliminated.”
Shoshani noted that the Iran-backed group continues to launch rocket attacks into northern Israel, with some days seeing more than 100 projectiles fired.
The Lebanese health ministry, however, reports a significantly higher death toll from Israeli strikes, stating 1,094 people have been killed.
This figure includes 121 children, 81 women and 892 men.
