The Israeli Air Force has attacked a petrochemical industrial complex in south-western Iran, the military said on Monday, after hostilities between the two countries had flared up again overnight.
The military said on Telegram that the target was located in the port city of Bandar-e Mahshahr, without providing further details.
Iranian state news agency Fars, which is close to the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported, citing a deputy governor of the Iranian province of Khuzestan, that parts of the facility had been damaged in the airstrike
It was initially not possible to independently verify the claims.
The latest escalation comes after Israel said it had attacked targets in western and central Iran following Iranian strikes the previous evening.
