Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon, killing and wounding several people while heavily damaging a government building amid ongoing hostilities.

TEBNINE: Israeli airstrikes on Sunday killed and wounded several people while causing significant damage to a government building in southern Lebanon.

The serail, or government building, in the town of Tebnine sustained heavy damage from the latest strikes, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Israel also carried out a strike on the village of Chaaitiyeh in Tyre, which resulted in casualties and injuries, the agency reported without providing specific numbers.

Israeli warplanes additionally conducted strikes on the towns of Rashaf and Srebbine, though no further details were immediately available.

These attacks are part of Israel’s expanding military campaign in Lebanon, which began on Monday following limited rocket fire by Hezbollah.

The broader regional tensions are linked to the war against Iran launched by Israel and the United States.

Since October 2023, Israel’s offensive in Lebanon has killed more than 4,000 people and wounded 17,000, escalating into a full-scale war in September 2024.

Despite a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in place since November 2024, Israel has continued near-daily violations that have left hundreds more dead and wounded.
