At least three people have been killed in renewed Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, Lebanese reports said on Thursday.

Two people were killed in an Israeli drone strike on a town south-east of Nabatiyeh in the south, the state news agency NNA reported. Another person was killed in a separate drone strike in the south.

The Israeli army announced on Wednesday evening that it had intercepted several missiles fired at Israeli troops in Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force subsequently said it had destroyed the launch pad.

In the war between Israel and the Hezbollah militia, approximately 3,900 people have been killed and 11,800 others wounded in Lebanon since the beginning of March, according to official figures.

The United States and Iran - Hezbollah's main supporter - have agreed to a framework deal to end the Iran war, which is also supposed to include Lebanon. While Israeli attacks in Lebanon appear to have decreased somewhat since then, they have continued until recently - as has Hezbollah shelling.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said on Thursday that his country "doesn't need aid, it needs investment," according to his office. He added that the Lebanese army and security forces also need financial support.
