
KOTA KINABALU: A special car plate that reads “Isteri YAB Perdana Menteri” (Prime Minister’s Wife), which was said to be spotted at a hotel here, was not made at Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s request.
In a statement on Sunday, State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong explained that the special plate is standard practice by the State for VIPs attending official events.

“The Sabah Government provides vehicles according to the itinerary while they are in Kota Kinabalu.
“The plate was not at the request of Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail,” he said.
