A recent video going around online shows restaurant workers in Indonesia serving “shell out” style food to customers in the most unexpected way.
The food was served using shovels!
The shell out style of eating is pretty common worldwide, but what really caught netizens’ attention this time was how the food was served.
In the video, two workers were seen using a shovel to bring the seafood to the customers’ table, with the food placed right on top of it.
The seafood was served in a shell-out style, where the table was lined with plastic as the base, and the meal included crabs, prawns, squid, corn, veggies, and a sauce of choice.
This video has garnered 1.5m views and 21.6k likes at the time of writing, with most of the commenters being from Malaysia as the video also went viral in our country.
Many netizens were outraged, flooding the comments section with their reactions.
“Shovels aren’t supposed to be used for food.”
“If I brought my mom, she’d definitely ask to go home. We’ve got manners when it comes to how food is served.”
“The things they use for shovels aren’t meant for food. Shovels are for sand and dirt. The paint can even peel off when it gets hot. You can figure out the rest.”
