Following the major criticisms online for jokingly blaming her husband’s genitals for her herpes diagnosis, Malaysian influencer and dessert seller, Kieda, broke the silence.

Kieda said she found it tough to be herself because whatever she does, she would get criticised.

In her Instagram posts today (June 23), Kieda defended herself and said she was joking in her way, which some people find unacceptable. She also lamented that regardless of good or bad things, others will still find her flaws.

“When I joke in my ways, people can’t accept it. When others joke in their ways, I try to accept it.”

“It’s so hard to be Kieda. Hopefully, I’ll stay true to myself — not fake, not two-faced, and never backstabbing friends, even if there are people who don’t like me.”

In her post, Kieda also pointed out that she would not have any problem with anyone as long as others don’t have an issue with her.

Kieda is staying home at the moment

Following her herpes diagnosis and the customers’ concerns, and since Kieda is dealing with food daily for her crepe dessert business, Kieda revealed that she will be staying home for now.

The business will be handled by her staff, and she is currently investing in herself and a new hobby.

“Don’t worry everyone. My great team will be handling the business. May Allah protect everyone.”

“It’s 2025, you guys need to chill”

Meanwhile, Kieda’s husband, Hilmi Zaki, appeared unaffected by the herpes joke and told social media users to learn to take a joke. In response to a netizen on TikTok, Hilmi said,

“My wife made the joke but why are you panicking? Come on, it’s 2025, and it was merely for entertainment. My advice to you, I can post what I like, because I know I am not doing anything wrong.”

In another comment, Hilmi also said Kieda’s other jokes were harsher than what social media users saw online.
