With the currently increasing inflation rates as well as the threat of a economic recession looming over the horizon, everything seems to be getting more expensive by the day.
From food to even housing, Malaysians are finding it harder by the day to afford basic necessities.
Recently, a posting for a room to rent went viral for all of the wrong reasons. The post which was shared on a public Facebook rooms for rent group is for a single bed room in a condominium in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The room which costs RM350 per month comes with a mattress, a ceiling fan and some plug points. However, based on the listing, the room is super tiny and means that you aren’t able to put any other furniture in it because the room itself is almost the same size as the mattress.
The ceiling fan is placed awkwardly and its blades are almost touching the sides of the wall.
It’s the size of a grave!
The listing has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Malaysians were shocked at the price in comparison to the space the room had. Some even compared it to the size of a grave.
“Looks the same but is not it.”
Meanwhile, other users compared it to a prison cell, whilst others said that at least prison is free.
Some expressed worry about the ceiling fan and wondered why it was placed so closely to the wall.
“Is the ceiling fan for the upcoming Final Destination sequel?“, asked a user.
