Everyone has something to say about the recent viral video of a comedian claiming to be Muslim and took off her veil and clothes at an open mic session in a TTDI comedy club this week.

With JAWI and the police opening up investigation on the incident, many have taken to social media, sharing their opinion on the matter including professional comedian, Harith Iskander.

Here is a video of him slamming the ‘comedian’ for her actions.

In a video titled: “This is NOT stand-up comedy.”, Harith Iskander said, “Here is my statement. That girl is not a stand-up comedian.”

“…and what she was doing, was NOT stand-up comedy.”

He added, that despite doing it at a comedy club during an open mic session, “it was painful to watch.” and “there was nothing funny about what she said or did.”

“There wasn’t a joke.”

Answering as to why the girl was on stage to begin with, he adds that any aspiring comedian begins with an open mic night.

“She wanted to shock and bring attention to herself. Her intention was to shock and offend, therefore she was not doing stand-up comedy.”

Ending his video, Harith asks the public to not ‘lump’ the action of one, ‘mental’ comedian with others in the business.
