Christian Benteke has admitted that he may have to leave Crystal Palace.

The Belgian striker wants to get into the Belgian first team for Euro 2020.

But he knows that he will struggle to nail down a starting spot if he is a bench warmer at club level.

He scored two goals for his national team against Cyprus in a 6-1 win in midweek.

Benteke told Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure: "Playing for your club is always different from the national team.

"I hope the Cyprus game will give me my confidence back and give me the chance to score for Palace.

"But I also have to think about the January transfer window. I will give it some thought and I'll see what can be done.

"It is important to have playing time for your club, but what you do on national duty is also important.

"It carries weight and can compensate a little. I was playing for high stakes in the Cyprus game.

"Places in the Belgium squad are hard to come by, I have to be honest. I wanted to show the coach what I can do and stood up to be counted.

"I really want to play at Euro 2020. I work like a madman every day with that target in mind."
