
Kota Kinabalu: Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin offered his condolences to the family of the late State and national para swimmer Jaflee Jikol (pic) who succumbed to cancer on Monday.
He said the passing of the 21-year-old athlete from Tongod is a great loss for the country.
Jaflee, who holds the national record in 100m backstroke, won a team bronze for the country in the 4x100m medley at the 2023 Asean Para Games in Cambodia and he had also participated at the Citi Para Swimming World Series in Singapore in April.
In October, he received RM2,000 from Ellron in addition to the RM19,000 received earlier to ease his financial burden.
