
Kota Kinabalu: Two men who have conviction records were sentenced to 10 years’ jail and ordered to get five strokes of the cane each for robbing a man of his car as well as causing hurt to him.
Mohd Fuad Alexander, 33, and Firmansyah Mohd, 39, pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan, Friday.
AdvertisementThe duo had robbed Velantain Jeffry, 44, together with an accomplice still at large at a car park of the Kedai 7 Playground in Benoni, Papar between 1am and 2.30am on Dec 11 this year.
During the incident, the duo also took Velantain’s handphone.

She further submitted that it was a second case that happened in Papar this week.
Nurul also said the trauma suffered by the victim as well as the losses should also be taken into account.
She added that the victim had also suffered injuries during the incident.
Both Mohd Fuad and Firmansyah have previous conviction records.
The court heard that while the victim was sleeping inside his car parked near the shop after a drinking session, he realised that three unknown men were inside his car.
The three unknown men later identified as Mohd Fuad and Firmansyah as well as their accomplice, pulled Velantain out of his car and fled in it.
There was also handphone belonging to the victim inside the car.
Due to the incident, he suffered injuries.
The CCTV footage also recorded the trio’s action.
Following a police report lodged by the victim, Mohd Fuad and Firmansyah were arrested and the car recovered.
Firmansyah was ordered referred to the Immigration Department after releasing from prison.
