Jailani Yunus named Public Services Commission chief

PUTRAJAYA, June 7 — Datuk Seri Ahmad Jailani Yunus has been appointed Public Services Commission chairman for three years effective today.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali in a statement said the appointment was made with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in accordance with Article 139(4) of the Federal Constitution.

He said Jailani has an extensive 30 years of experience in public service.

He added that Jailani has held various important positions in the public service, including Public Service Department deputy director-general of public services (operations) and Rural Development Ministry secretary-general .

Jailani holds a PhD in Landscape Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of Hiroshima, Japan.
