
KUALA LUMPUR: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will summon comedian and actor Harith Iskander (pic), regarding a Facebook post about 'ham' that is alleged to insult Islam.
Its director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee said that the department had filed a police report for further investigation and action.

Sirajuddin said Jakim would not tolerate any actions that mock Islamic teachings or offend the sensitivities of Muslims.

“Islam’s position as the religion of the Federation as stated in the Constitution, must be respected at all times,” he added.
