SANDAKAN: Jalan Cecily Sandakan will be closed on Dec 18-19 to allow for tree felling and large-scale cleaning following the completion of the works along the stretch.
The decision was made following a meeting at the MPS on Monday, headed by Karamunting Assemblyman George Hiew Vun Zin, with members from the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS), Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), Telekom, the Public Works Department and the Batu Sapi Parliament Office.
The conference was also convened to look into solutions to the problem of huge trees that endanger cars and road users on Jalan Cecily in Karamunting.
The meeting enabled a consensus and the best solution to the long-standing problem. It is regarded as the best answer obtained by a collaborative effort among the various departments concerned.
