The Shahkot police have arrested two villagers on the charge of obstructing work of a government pond in a village.
Investigating Officer (IO) Tirath Ram said the accused had been identified as Davindar Singh, alias Geba, son of Kewal, a resident of Jaffar Wal village, and Prem Lal, alias Prem, son of Jogindar, a resident of Pato Khurd village.
Hardeep Singh Chandi, a resident of Jaffarwal village, had complained to the police that the accused had disrupted work of government pond in his village and also assaulted and threatened him.
The IO said a case under relevant Sections of the BNS was registered against the accused.
