A junior resident was found dead in the restroom of the trauma centre at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Dr Yogesh, a junior resident from the department of internal medicine. He hailed from Jalandhar.
According to information, the doctor was found dead inside the washroom during duty hours by the hospital staff. It was alleged that the victim had consumed a poisonous substance; however, authorities have not yet confirmed this claim.
Chandigarh Police have launched an investigation into the incident and the body was shifted for a post-mortem examination.
