THE Sungai Besar UMNO division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos says he has raised more than RM66,000 by auctioning a single slipper and a towel in order to settle a court judgment debt owed to Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok.

He said the two items, which he had used during a protest demonstration when Selangor was facing water supply issues under the administration of former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, were successfully sold for RM66,000.

“Alhamdulillah today, the two items have been successfully auctioned and bid up to RM66,000,” he said in a three-minute video posted on his Facebook page.

“Supposedly today there was to be a court auction over Teresa Kok’s claim of RM66,000. But yesterday my son, Mohamad Amin Daniel, managed to obtain a postponement of the order.

“However, the auction of the slipper and towel went ahead so that we can pay Teresa Kok,” he added.

Jamal said two bidders purchased the items. One bidder from Sabah bought the single slipper for RM33,000, while another bidder, described as an Indian individual from Negeri Sembilan, purchased the towel.

“He informed us that he will frame the slipper and send it to Teresa Kok’s office in the near future. He will arrange the payment for it today,” Jamal said.

He added that once the payments are received, the funds will be handed over to the Seputeh MP. “God willing, we will settle this case as soon as we receive the money,” he said.

Jamal claimed that the move was intended to restore his reputation, alleging that Kok had tarnished his name by pursuing a court order despite what he described as an existing resolution.

“But she proceeded nonetheless until my house was broken into, entered by court officers and police officers who had to carry out their duties according to the court order,” he said.

“I would like to thank Teresa Kok and I hope with the RM66,000 she will realise her small-scale effort to rear pigs at her home,” he added.

On 28 January, Kok executed a writ of seizure and sale at Jamal’s residence in Ampang, during which a notice of seizure was served and the kitchen door lock was broken and replaced.

Previously, Kok had obtained a High Court order to seize Jamal’s movable assets in order to recover RM66,061.85 in outstanding judgment costs. The writ of seizure and sale was issued in her capacity as judgment creditor, with Jamal named as the judgment debtor. - February 11, 2026
