KOTA KINABALU: The State Works Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving Universiti Malaysia Sabah’s (UMS) water supply problems through coordinated discussions and site visits involving the Sabah Water Department (JANS).
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, also Works Minister, said the meetings focused on identifying both short- and long-term solutions, with key issues such as water theft, incomplete pipe works, and technical challenges already identified.
He added that JANS has agreed to enhance technical cooperation with UMS, including ensuring consistent water flow to the R13 tank and assisting with pump operations.
