On Saturday (8 November), the 9-member multinational group, ZEROBASEONE (ZB1), performed at the Idea Live Arena located inside a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya.
While waiting to enter the venue, many people were seen sitting on the floor of the shopping mall.
“Low standards of civilisation”
A Japanese national, who had come to Malaysia for the concert, is now getting bashed by Malaysians for saying that Malaysia is a country that has “low standards of civilisation” over the act of other concertgoers sitting on the shopping mall floor, as well as over vendors selling merchandise.
The concertgoer took to their X account to showcase concertgoers sitting on the shopping mall floor, as well as a vendor that had set up merchandise on the floor of the shopping mall.
They wrote, “It can’t be helped, since the country has such low standards of civilisation.”
The comment didn’t sit well with people
Many Malaysians and some foreigners took to the post to bash the concertgoer over their judgment of Malaysia. Some even showcased images of Japanese people lying drunk on the streets of the country as a comparison.
A Japanese netizen even apologised on behalf of the concertgoer, stating that they do not represent Japanese people as a whole.
