A Japanese news anchor’s heartwarming reaction to being at the World Cup has gone viral.
Hirochika Nakakuki travelled to Arlington, Texas to watch his national team compete against the Netherlands at the Dallas Stadium on Sunday (14 June).
Speaking to Fox 4 News anchor Tisia Muszinga, Mr Nakauki, who said he struggled with his English, couldn’t hold back his elation for the tournament.
“I am excited!,” he exclaimed, before showing off his custom football-shirt. “I love your energy buddy,” said Muzinga, before more cheering Japan football fans ran in front of the camera.
Sharing the moment on social media, Muzinga said: “We didn’t need perfect communication to understand each other.
“We spoke the same language: passion, kindness, and love for the beautiful game of soccer.”
