- Mr Arday, who became Cambridge's youngest Black professor in 2023, said that his decision to step away was to “bring this chapter to an end”, rather than an acceptance of the narratives against him.
- The cancelled events include a bookshop appearance in Edinburgh and a speech at the Royal Geographical Society.
- Cambridge University said that it would continue to investigate the circumstances of Mr Arday's appointment and tenure, with findings informing a review of senior academic role appointments.
