Jeff Brazier sought police help for son Freddy's drug issues

  • TV presenter Jeff Brazier has revealed that he previously contacted the police in a desperate attempt to help his 22-year-old son, Freddy, manage long-standing substance abuse issues.
  • Speaking on Matt Willis’s On The Mend podcast, Jeff explained that Freddy enters a form of psychosis when using drugs, leading to chaotic behaviour where Jeff repeatedly had to search for him on the streets to bring him to safety.
  • Jeff shared that although Freddy has previously been sectioned and attended rehab, breaking the addiction cycle ultimately depends on Freddy maturing and choosing to recover for himself.
  • Emphasising his ongoing dedication to his son, Jeff stated he will never stop trying to support him, adding that it is what Freddy's late mother, Jade Goody, would have insisted he do.
  • A representative for Freddy confirmed that he is currently in a positive place in his life, focusing on his wellbeing and taking steps forward with the support of those around him.
