KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan (Warisan) has dismissed Star president Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan’s threat to quit Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as an act of fear rather than courage.
Warisan vice president Terence Siambun said on Wednesday that Jeffrey was losing Kadazan Dusun Murut support and was trying to mask his weakness by claiming to defend Sabah’s rights.
He questioned why Jeffrey was only voicing such demands now, despite serving alongside Umno and Pakatan Harapan leaders in government over the past five years.
Terence added that Sabahans still remember Jeffrey’s decision in 2020 to side with Tan Sri Musa Aman’s bloc, saying the betrayal of trust remains fresh in people’s minds.
He also called on Jeffrey to act on his own rhetoric by resigning, instead of clinging to office, and said Warisan would continue to contest solo by relying on the people’s mandate rather than threats or ultimatums.
