Kuala Lumpur: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan applauded the political aspirations of merging his party and PBS, saying it marks a significant milestone in the political landscape of Sabah.
“This is a collaborative future for Star and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS),” he said, referring to the recent move by PBS to form a committee aimed at exploring the proposed merger.
He said the initiative reflects the long-term aspiration and as Star President, he envisions that a united entity will strengthen political power in advocating for Sabah’s rights under the Federal Constitution and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
On Tuesday, PBS Information Chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said his party has formed a committee to look into the proposed merger with Star.
