Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) President Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) said he respected the decision of five party leaders who chose to remain with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), saying each person must act according to conscience.

He said he was neither surprised nor discouraged by their decision, as walking alone in his political journey was nothing new to him.

Jeffrey stressed that his struggle had always been about dignity, fairness and justice for Sabah, not position or comfort.

He reaffirmed his mission to continue serving the people of Sabah with honesty and courage, while wishing his former colleagues well in their chosen path.

He added that the coming state election would serve as a referendum for Sabah — whether to remain subservient to Malaya or to stand free and independent.
