NABAWAN: Jenneyviey William emerged as the champion of the Sugandoi open category competition at the Nabawan and Pagalungan District-Level Kaamatan Festival, held at the Pentas Terbuka Majlis Daerah, here.

The winner took home RM2, 000 in cash, along with a trophy and certificate.

Siti Zawaniah Simin and Lynneth Jamius secured second and third place, receiving RM1, 500 and RM1, 000, respectively, along with accompanying trophies and certificates.

The Best Battle title went to Jennyviey William and Lynneth Jamius, who were awarded RM600.

In the Songkotoun category, Raunis Sylvester Kandoi claimed victory, earning RM1, 000, while Tallest Joseph Tamit came in second with RM700, both receiving trophies and certificates.

Meanwhile, the Dazanak category saw Nur Auni Imanina Christoper take first place, followed by Aiden Luie Pearl (RM700) and Filzah Nur Qaisata Nordin (RM500), with all winners receiving trophies and certificates.

The event was officiated by Pensiangan Member of Parliament Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, who is also the Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister, during the prize-giving ceremony.

Present were Senator Datuk Bobbey A. Suan and Pagalungan Assistant District Officer Hasinin Kinsim (co-chairman of the Nabawan Kaamatan Festival), among others.
