Jepak state by-election on Nov 4: EC

PUTRAJAYA – The Election Commission (EC) has set the by-election polling day for the Jepak state constituency in Sarawak on November 4.

EC deputy chairman Azmi Sharom said the nomination of candidates and early voting were fixed on October 21 and 31, respectively.

He was speaking at the media conference after a special meeting at Menara SPR here to discuss important dates for the state constituency’s by-election.

The Jepak by-election will be held after the seat became vacant due to the death of its assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip on September 15.

Talib, 72, died of kidney complications after being admitted into a medical centre on September 14. – Bernama, September 25, 2023
