Jeremy Clarkson to return to Top Gear roots in Clarkson’s Farm special

Clarkson’s Farm fans are champing at the bit for a new series of the show, and will be pleased to hear that Jeremy Clarkson is returning to their screens far sooner than expected.

While Clarkson, 66, has turned his attention to agriculture since he took over managing Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds, the former Top Gear host is returning to his motoring days for a one-off Clarkson’s Farm episode.

The episode, titled Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson’s Farm Special, will air on Prime Video and sees Clarkson attempting to build his own car in the style of the Jaguar F-Type V6S.

The project will see Clarkson marrying both his farming and driving interests, as the presenter – who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2025 and is now in remission – attempts to create the vehicle using nothing but farm-grown materials from Diddly Squat Farm.

The show will see him team up with car designer Ian Callum CBE, the man behind the original F-Type and the Aston Martin Vanquish, to design a Jaguar that represents modern British living.

The car’s interiors, for example, will be made from leather from his livestock, while he will attempt to grow his own flax crop that can be turned into a cutting edge sustainable fibre.

“Frustrated by modern motoring’s endless beeps, bongs and nanny-state technology, Jeremy has decided that if he wants a ‘new’ car, he won’t buy one – he’ll build one,” said a statement from Prime.

Jeremy Grows a Car will air on Prime Video next year (although no official date has been released), with the full-length sixth series of Clarkson’s Farm arriving later in 2027.

Last month, Clarkson teased his plans for his next TV show once Clarkson’s Farm, the National Television Award-winning programme he’s hosted since 2021, is done.

“We’re currently thinking about what we do after Clarkson’s Farm and it’s going to have to be something bigger to stand out to protect us from this onslaught from underneath,” Clarkson said, referring to the rise of new media platforms like YouTube.

“It has to be unbelievably ambitious. Where people go, ‘What the f… are you doing? That’s incredible.’”
